  • Rabolista

    Circus artist who is able to substitute another artist in any circus act.

  • Rascal

    Slang used by the circus artists referring to the one who never becomes a professional artist; rascabucha.

  • Rehearser

    Professional who leads a rehearsal with the artists.

  • Reprise

    Short comic appearence by eccentrics while equipment is changed in the circusring for the next act. The eccentric who plays this role is named toni soirèe.

  • Ring

    Plastic or wooden rings used in juggling acts.

  • Ring Acrobat

    Artist who performs on the Roman rings.

  • Ringmaster

    Professional in charge of the circus show.

  • Rola Bola

    A board balancing on one or more cylinders piled on top of each other where an acrobat balances and juggles.

  • Roller Skating

    Acrobatic roller skating performed by two artists on a circular pedestal.

  • Roman Rings

    Two wooden or metallic rings hanging from ropes or straps

  • Roue Cyr

    Created by the French acrobat Daniel Cyr, it is a big and round metallic structure in which acrobats perform as in the German wheel.

  • Rumbeira

    A female artist from the Northeast Brazil who sings, dances, imitates and dubs songs, provoking the audience.

  • Russian Swing

    Act in which an acrobat is thrown from a giant swing onto the shoulders of a base.
