  • Acrobat
    Artist who performs acrobatics; generally related to the circus.
  • Acrobatic Cyclist

    Artist who performs on bikes and unyclicles.

  • Acrobatics

    The most basic art of performing saults, sumersaults, body twisting on the ground and in the air.

  • Adagio

    Performance in which a pair of artists - a base and a partner - show a sequence of acrobatic movements and poses.

  • Aerial Acrobatics
    A group of acrobatic movements in aerial acts. aerial acts
  • Aerial Acts

    Any aerial act -trapeze (static, flying, Washington), hoop, silks.

  • Aerial Bambu Act

    Similar to the vertical perch in which two artists perform.

  • Aerial Hoop

    Suspended hoop in which the artist performs.

  • Aerial Rope
    Aerial performance on a single rope where usually a girl hangs and performs an aerial ballet; corde lisse.
  • Animal Cage

    Iron cage wagon to transport and maintain big and wild animals.

  • Animal Trainer

    Professional who works with animals in preparation for the shows.

  • Announcer

    The one who anounces the show to the audience.

  • Antipodism

    Foot juggling with objects, generally barrels and cilinders.

  • Antipodist
    Foot juggler; icarian.
  • Apparatus
    Any equipment needed by artists during their presentation on the ground or in the air.
  • Apron

    Safety net in both extremities of the flying trapeze.

  • Auguste

    The artist with a coloured face, red nose, who wears a hat, big shoes, oversized cloths and collar. He can act alone or together with the white face clown; toni; eccentric.
