His parents, Luís Robattini and the german artist Maria Kroner were circus artists in Europe. Luís had four children in his first marriage: Antonio, Chiquinha, Nelson and Jorge Robattini. He married again with Graciolina Falk Robattinni, known as "Filhinha". Their six children are Roberto, Alfredo, Henrique, Julio Cesar, Alda and Amélia Robattini. All of them became professional circus artists.
