Elephant tamer. Hindu is the only artist in his family. He was born in the ancient Ceylon, in India. His house was in front of the elephant sector of the local zoo. There he started working as an animal trainer. In 1948, he was contracted as a tamer by the circensian and businessman Bebo Stevanowich. Hindu boarded a ship headed to Brazil with six elephants and only one assistant to help him along the journey. He made his debut at age 24. Later in his career, he was the first to perform with free horses at Circo Beto Carrero (1983-1984) and was also part of the circuses Tihany, Giglio, Guarcone and Di Roma. Hindu married the tamer Hilda Zárate Peires. Their two children, Adriana and Charles Peires, are tamers.
