Fred Vilar

Actor, clown, poet. He was a tailor when he entered the Theater for Amatures of Rio de Janeiro, where he began acting in plays. In 1949, he and the clown Carequinha formed the comic duo "Carequinha and Fred" at Circo Atlântico. The circus was owned by a German business located in Praça Onze (Onze Square). Afterwards, Fred acted for Piolin, Garcia and Eduardo Temperani and started making circus apparatuses for magicians. He was the director of the Artistic Union and substitute director for the Federação de Difusão Cultural.
