As an actress and dancer, Águeda had her early education in circus with a private teacher. She is the daughter of Angelo François and Mimi François and her grandparents are Jean François and Anna Stevanowich. They both came from saltimbanco groups in western Europe. She performed at Pavilhão François until 1950. Águeda married the actor and lawyer, João Romano, with whom she had three children: João Romano Filho, Maria Cristina and Maria Carmela François who took part in the circus during their childhood.
