Petrônio Rosa de Santana

Cruzeiro, São Paulo, Brazil, 1919 - Rio de Janeiro, 2000

Actor, circensian, play writer, producer and director. His parents and the uncle Dedé Santana were circus artists. Colé debuted at age twelve acting as the clown Picolé. In the late 1930s he debuted in the Companhia Típica Brasil. In 1941 he was contratcted by the Jardel Jercoles company in Rio de Janeiro and then acted with Oscarito, Grande Otelo, Dercy Gonçalves and Virgínia Lane in chanchadas - Brazilian movies which included satires of hollywood movies. From 1960 until 1970 he performed in humoristic TV programs.
