Giuseppe Chiarini

1823 - 1897

Chiarini is an Italian artist and circus owner who came to Brazil for the first time in 1869, living in Rio de Janeiro until 1872, when he went back to Europe. He returned to Brazil in 1875 travelling through the northeast and southern Brazil with his circus including 80 artists and 40 animals from until 1877. Due to his success, he was hired as a horse trainer for the Brazilian Emperor Pedro II.
