He is the son of the clown André and Vó Maria and belongs to the second generation of the Campos family from Minas Gerais. Cacareco performed in various circuses until 1992 and then worked for the now defunct company Usimec where he retired. He married Helia Teresinha Costa Campos and had three children: Renata, Roberta and Roy Nandisson Costa Campos.
