Antonio Malhone

Clown Pirolito. His father, Julio Malhone, died when he was three years old. His mother, Maria Rosa Malhone, got married again with José Alves do Nascimento. Malhone made his debut at age six acting as the clown Pirolito. In 1940, after doing his military service, he married Benedicta Dalva Fernandes, whose father was a circus owner. It was in this circus that his family was performing. When his daughter, Guaraciaba, was born, his father in law gave him money to buy a circus, named as Circo Teatro Guaraciaba. As a versatile comic, Malhone also performed along with Mazzaropi in films. When the couple subsequently separated he and his daughter toured successfuly throughout São Paulo until they reached the city of Sorocaba, in the 1970s. Circo Teatro Guaraciaba closed down in 1980.
