Clown, actor, theater director. He is one of the founders of Escola Piolin in the State of Paraíba, Northeast Brazil. He directed "Vau da Sarapalha" which was a very successful theater play throughout Brazil and worldwide. He is known for mixing traditional clown characteristics with theater and circus techniques such as juggling and unicycling. He acted in the filmes "Baile Perfumado," "O primeiro dia," "Eu, Tu, Eles," "Abril Despedaçado" and "Carandiru." In 1983, he organized Festival de Palhaços (Clown Festival) in Paraíba and in 2001, he promoted the Encontro Mundial de Palhaços "O riso da Terra" (Clown Encounters of the World) in João Pessoa, the capital of Paraíba. Xuxu was also Executive Director of the Fundação Cultural de João Pessoa.
