Circo-Teatro Arethuza

Circo Arethuza had its premiere in 1927. Previously known as Circo Colombo, in 1917, the circus set up when Mariana Mauro Santoro became widow and went to live with her children in the circus owned by Antonio das Neves. Arethuza was among the first circus to present theater plays on a stage. That is why it was identified as a circus teater. Arethuza closed down in 1964 after decades of great sucess. The name Arethuza is a homage to the daughter Arethuza Neves, a great artist in the company.
