Irmãs Romero

Trapeze duo formed by the sisters Delia Tereza Romero and Gricelda Delvalle Romero, known as the "Sisters Romero", the fourth generation of artists in their family. Their maternal grandparents had been acrobats and hand balancers in Italy and France. Gringa and Negra started performing acrobatics on the tight-wire with their parents Luiz Isidoro and Cecilia Basaldua, who were jockeys at Circo Hermanos Ganni. The family came to Brazil in 1962 to work for Circo Coliseu Argentino (owned by Adelino Mota) performing dental acts on double trapeze, which is a rare-seen act nowadays due to its complexity. The sisters performed in the circuses Hagenback (Germany), Garcia (1970-1972), Stankowich (19740, Beto Carrero (1976-1980), Tejedor (Argentina, 1980), Cassino de Sevilla (Spain), Tihany and Hong Kong Rio (owned by the clown Ripolim) until 2000.
