Clown, equilibrist, hand-balancer. After finishing junior high school in his hometown he learned circus arts from his master Quiabo and debuted at age eleven at Gran Bartholo Circus. Soon after, he started performing chair balancing and stilts at Circo Shangrilá (owned by Jota Mariano). Before he became an artist, he worked as a shoe molder. He performed at Circo dos Sonhos (owned by Marcos Frota) and at Garcia for twenty seven years. Since 2000, he has been running Reco-Reco Produções, making circus apparatuses and leading workshops. Reco married Ruth Coutinho Ferreira dos Santos, who was a dancer at Garcia. Their daughter, Daiana Coutinho dos Santos, is an aerial artist.
