Actress, singer, equilibrist, contortionist, trapezist. Her parents came from Portugal. The mother, Maria das Dores, got widowed twice. She married José da Costa, known as the clown Pindoba, and had a second marriage with Sebastião Policarpo Silva, who left the teacher's career and became the clown Cangalha. Maria Aparecida debuted in 1930 performing corde lisse at Circo Teatro Ayres, in Campinas, São Paulo. Afterwards she worked for the circus Vagner and Pamplona (a Mexican bull fighter who traveled in the cities of Barbacena and Juiz de fora), Elias, Temperani and Circo do Conchinha (owned by Turca). Maria Aparecida married João Ayres, who performed at Circo-Teatro Ayres. Together, they performed until 1991, when she moved to Divinópolis. There, she became a member of the Academia Divinopolitana de Letras and acted in plays and and recited poems. In 2014 she moved to Paulo Afonso, in the State of Bahia to stay close to her children.
