José Wilson Moura Leite

Trapezit, tamer,  clown and circus owner. He is he son of José da Silva Leite and Benedita Moura Castro. He is a descendant of the third generation of the Moura family from the State of Alagoas, northern Brazil. His master was Jota Mariano, who taught him all about cicus arts until his debut at age eight. In the 1970s, he inaugurated Circo Spadoni in the town of Cupira, Pernambuco. The circus is stil touring throughout the country. At that time the circus name was Brasilux. In 1985, he inaugurated Cico Escola Picadeiro (Picadeiro Circus School) in São Paulo, a space of creation for many generations of students who formed groups that innovate on theater and circus throughout the country, such as Acrobático Fratelli, Parlapatões, Naude Ícaros and Circo Mínimo, and other groups. That same year he was invited to join the play Ubu Rei, directed by Cacá Rosset, as a circus technician. Ubu had great success during two years in São Paulo. 2000, he organized the Caminhão Trapézio (trapeze on a truck) with young acrobats performing outdoors. In his long and very successful circus career, José Wilson participated in many national and international festivals (Voiron, France, 1987), as well performed for Rainier, Prince of Monaco. His first two children - Wilsinho and Alessandro - took part in circus acts during their childhood and the youngr son Pedro Henrique, five years old, is acting as the clown Perereca at Circo Spadoni.
