Edimeia Messias

São Paulo, Brazil, 1956

Acrobat, trapezist. She earned a degree in Education at University Castelo Branco in Sao Paulo. Her parents worked for ten years in Circo-Teatro Cacique, owned by Luís Rossato, before they purchase their own circus named Circo Irmãos Mesias. The circus supports were made with eucalyptus sticks donated by the local farmers. Her six siblings formed the Troupe Irmãos Messias who performed acrobatics, trapeze and handstands until 1998. Edmeia married Edson Fonseca, the partner of Circo-Teatro Igor (son of Cortiça). This circus used to travel through the Vale do Paraiba (Paraiba valley).
