Juggler, cyclist, actor, clown. He is the third generation of artists in his family and his parents are Wlademir de Almeida and Iracy Alves de Almeida. His paternal grandfather, Benedito José do Nascimento, was a circus humorist, ventriliquist, magician and owner of an amusement park. He was known as Zé Pertico. Joinha debuted at age fifteen at Circo Universal, owned by Rabecão, performing juggling, object balancing and dog tricks. He worked for the circuses Ìndo Brasil owned by Pelado, Serelepe, Aquarius (owned by Xuxu), Rebian, Europeu (owned by Ivanildo). At Circo D´Itália, he performed unicycle and made comic duos with the clowns Xuxu and Picoly. He was a teacher at Projeto Enturmando in 1990 and since 2009 he has been leading workshops at Centro de Memória do Circo (Memory Circus Center.) Joinha married Rosely Margalhães.
