Cossacos de Kuban

Group of acrobats and dancers from Eastern Europe who performed in South America and Brazil in the 1930s and 1940s. It is said that they might be ex military headed by the Russian General Ivan Paulichenco. Some of those artists remain in Brazil from as far back as 1933. The group, also known as Companhia Balalaika, travelled throughout the State of Pernambuco with two semis. Their performances included music and horses. They also acted in the Clube Português and Teatro Santa Isabel, in Recife.
