Chumbinho
Antonio Luiz de Morais

São Paulo, 1953

Knife thrower, trapezist, clown, circus announcer, prompter and stage technician.  He was born in Circo Teatro Igor where finished up through elemantary school. The circus belonged to the couple Juarez Távora de Souza and Carmelina. Here, he had his debut at age five with his master, Cortiça (Geraldo) and later in life performed in the circuses Garcia, Vostok, Bartholo, Tihany, Bombril (Bira Loko's father) and Beto Carrero until 1999. He also partnered with the clowns Pisca-Pisca (Milton Amaral), Geleia and Bossa Nova (Sidney Wich). He also taught wire walking, trapeze and comic acts as well as worked as a secretary of Pedro Robattini and tent master of Chichunelo and Irmãos Leite. Since 2009,  Chumbinho has been leading circus architectural workshops in the Centro de Memória do Circo (Circus Memory Center) in São Paulo.
