Walter Canales

Circus artist, actor. He is the son of Albert Canales and Conchita Teresa de Canales. He was born and brought up in the circus family and started performing antipodist acts as a child. He left the circus to become an actor in the defunt television channel TUPI where he was contracted by Cassiano Gabus Mendes. In the 1960s, Walter and his sister, Cachita, went to TUPI television. He was the "mestre chicote" (master whip), the one who presented circus acts in Circo Bombril, a tent set up in the studio of the television station. The clowns, Fuzarca and Torresmo, performed in the circus while the kids from the neighborhood acted as extras.  Walter married Moralina (Mora) Marques and they had three children: Adriano Stuart, the only one born in the circus, Maria Cristina and Maria Momice da Graças.
