Raul Barreto
Raul Carlos Pereira Barreto Filho

São Paulo, Brazil, 1959

Actor, clown, producer. He graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from FAAP - Fundação Armando Álares Penteado. Raul is the only artist in his family. He was a student at the theater school Drama Visão and at Circo Escola Picadeiro in São Paulo where he specialized as a clown, juggler, cyclist and knife thrower. In 1992, he joined the group Parlapatões. In 1998 he won the Grande Prêmio da Crítica APCA for the project "Vamos comer Piolin". He acted in the plays "O Tartufo", directed by José Possi Neto, "Luz, Calma e Volúpia", directed Ivaldo Bertazzo and "O Mambembe", directed Gabriel Vilela. In 2001 and 2002, he was the presenter of MOVIX on TV Cultura. From 2002 to 2006 he worked with Antonio Nóbrega on his cultural research. He also acted in tv programs and soap operas such as "Revistinha Rá-Tim-Bum", "Mundo da Lua", "Janela para o céu", "Sãos e Salvos" and "Meu Pedacinho de chão" (TV Globo, 2013). In a partnership with the groups Parlapatões and Pia Fraus, he and Hugo Possolo inuagurated Circo Rodas and presented more than thirty shows.
