He is the son of Francisco Azevedo and Rosa Fernandes Azevedo, and belongs to the second generation of the Azevedo's. He studied with a private teacher. When he was twenty years old he left his family and inaugurated his own circus  - Circo Irmãos Azevedo - showing aerial and acrobatic acts. Lulu married Nadir Ferreira Azevedo and together they toured in northeast Brazil with their eight children: Havay (Francisca), Ierecê, Aluisio Filho, Iara, Amapá, Orfila, Luci and Heloisa Azevedo. Onde of his descendants has been teachin at National Circus School in Rio de Janeiro since 1992.
